We’re going streaking!

After a few rough and contentious results, it felt great to get some home cooking these past few weeks, watching from the Fort as the Revs rolled over Chicago and Philadelphia in spectacular fashion (Kelyn Rowe’s second goal from the Union game was leading GOTW voting at last count – the result should be announced today). But with a short turnaround, the Revs are back on the road tonight, traveling to the frozen wasteland north of the border to take on Toronto FC.

F*C* Toronto

There will be two locations in greater Boston to watch the Revs seek revenge for that tight 0-1 loss to TFC a few weeks back. Come out tonight and celebrate local soccer with your fellow Riders. We say it every week but it bears repeating: everybody wins when fans support bars that support local soccer.

Many Riders will be watching the game at Parlor Sports in Somerville. Others will be downtown, at The Greatest Bar (where we’ve held the FIFA tournament for two years), for the Revolution’s official viewing party. Kickoff is at 7:00.

There will also be a viewing at the Boston Billiards Club in Nashua. Happy Hour is from 4:00-7:00pm, and then the fun begins!

One of the great things about the Midnight Riders is the broad reach of our supporter base. We know you don’t all live in Boston. If you’re interested in setting up a viewing in another city, email us and we’ll try to work with you to coordinate it. Six states, one team!

And F*C* cancer, too

The Midnight Riders are fielding a squad for the upcoming 2013 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund walk next weekend to help raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s lifesaving mission to conquer all forms of cancer. Please visit our team page to throw in a few bucks, or better yet many bucks, for one of the team members or just to the team as a whole and help us make a difference.
