VOTE

The first item on our agenda is the Midnight Riders 2012 scarf contest. The first round of voting is up here on the Midnight Riders members only board so get voting, the polls close on January 9th.

PARTY

The Midnight Riders Winter party is actually happening. It's a great time to meet up with old friends that you've been missing from the tailgate and to start planning for a much improved 2012 season. It will be taking place on Saturday, January 21st at 7 PM at the Banshee in Boston. We are also looking for any photos you have from the 2011 season for a special presentation during the party. MEET

The Midnight Riders 2012 General Meeting will be back at Doyle's Cafe in Jamaica Plain. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 18th at noon. There will be free food and a new 2012 Revs Jersey auctioned off. We will also be electing the 2012 officers, discussing the past and upcoming year, and covering any other issues raised during the meeting. More info here: Facebook Event

GAME TIME

Finally, the MLS amazingly just released the schedule for the upcoming season. We're totally shocked and also excited at all of the road-trip possibilities. From Montreal, to DC we'll be following the Revs this season unlike any year in recent memory. Stay-tuned on facebook and twitter to see all of the plans as they unfold.

Upcoming Events

2012 Revolution Jersey Unveiling

First off the Revs will be unveiling their new jersey on Saturday 12/3 at 5pm at the Gillette stadium pro shop. All are invited to attend. One of the jerseys unveiled will be a custom "Riders 12" Jersey being given to us by the Revolution front office. You will have a chance to win this at our General Meeting which will be happening sometime in Feb, more details to come shortly. You will have a chance to win another new jersey if you attend the other event going on later that evening....

The Third Annual American Outlaws Boston Winter Ball

The Midnight Riders will be donating a brand spanking new Revs Jersey to America Scores Boston to raffle off at this year's AO Boston Ball. So if you have nothing else going on this Saturday and want to hang out with some fellow soccer fans go grab yourself a ticket here.

Supporters Group Party at The Banshee

The Banshee will be holding their annual holiday party as a way of saying thanks to all the supporters groups that call The Banshee home. This is a great way to come and meet some other local soccer fans that you might not normally run into.

Midnight Riders End of Season Party

The Midnight Riders will be bringing back the end of season party this year. Per feedback from you guys we will be having it "some time in January". We know you've got better things to worry about in the next couple weeks, so we will be getting feedback from you all about a more specific date after that. FIFA 12 Tournament Info

The Midnight Riders are proud to announce that on November 8 we will be holding our first ever FIFA Video Game Tournament.

Schedule:

• (10 minutes for introduction, rules, etc.)


• First Round (Wave one) 16 people 8 Tvs - 10 minute game


• (10 minute break)


• First Round (Wave two) 16 people 8 Tvs - 10 minute game


• (10 minute break)


• Second Round 16 people 8 tvs - 10 minute game


• (10 minute break)


• Third Round 8 people 4 tvs - 20 minute game


• (10 minute break)


• Semi Finals 4 people 2 tvs - 30 minute game


• (10 minute break)


• Finals 2 people 1 tv - 30 minute game


• Awards Presentation

Rules:

• Any game ending in a draw will go to golden goal to be followed by PKs to decide a winner


• Players are allowed 3 minutes before the game to make roster changes.


• No custom formations are allowed


• Only 3 substitutions allowed once the game starts

FIFA 12 Tournament

While it appears the Revs season will be ending soon, that doesn't mean that we have stop!

We are proud to announce the first ever Midnight Riders FIFA Tournament!

We will be holding the event at The Greatest Bar in Boston's North End on November 8 at 6pm and it will be benefiting both charities we have been working with this year, ThinkTaylor.org (Taylor Twellman's new head injury charity), and the Prescott family.

This will be a 32 player tournament, with prizes, food, and celebrity guest/players. This event will be 18+. Every player who pre-registers will also get a limited edition t-shirt made just for the event.

In order for this to work though we are going to need some help from all of you. We already have a few Xbox360s, copies of FIFA12, and controllers, but we need a few more to make this run as smoothly as possible. We are also looking for people to help "referee" matches (and keep an eye on all the equipment). If you would be able to help with either of these things please email us at web@midnightriders.com and we will be setting up a meeting for all volunteers and coordinating with anyone letting us borrow equipment.

This event is open to all, so feel free to invite anyone you think would be interested.

9/11 Tribute and Parking Lot for today's

Parking

In case you haven't heard the parking lot for today's game has been moved to the back of lot 5. This is where our lot was last year. You do not need to be a season ticket holder to get into the lot, just identify yourself as a member of The Midnight Riders and you should be all set.

9/11 Tribute

We will be honoring those killed in the 9/11 attacks at two points during today's game. The first will be during the national anthem. We will have the large American flag (BAF) to hold up over the fort. Then at 9:00 on the game clock we will go silent in memory of those that lost their lives. No songs from 9 to 9:11 (flags/scarves up). We will sing God Bless America at 9:11, and as soon as that's done we will have small "Never Forget" signs to hold up in silence until 11:00 on the game clock. Then it is back to normal singing chanting.

The Discussion on Moving Forward

ManU Tailgate Area

This Wednesday night is certainly a great opportunity to see some of the world's best soccer players live in Foxboro. More importantly, however, it is a chance for the Midnight Riders to show these casual, glory-hunting types what it means to support your local club.

As always, it starts in the parking lot. Not in our usual spot but in the back of Lot 5. Lot 5 is one lot over from where we currently tailgate and the same lot we used last season.

If you received a parking pass from the team, just drive past where you would normally turn to go into our lot and take the next right. Note: Your Midnight Riders Parking Pass is not vaild for this game. Parking is $40 for all non season ticket holders.

Even if you don't plan on parking in Lot 5 with us for the tailgate, please make your way over to grab your tickets as this is where your tickets will be if you selected "tailgate pick up."

Regarding Wednesday's Meeting

As I'm sure most of you have heard we have a meeting with the Front Office and a representative of Team Ops on 6/29 at 7pm at the Fidelity Investment Club House.

All are welcome.

We do want the discussion to be as productive as possible, so we would like to reiterate a few points.

A) BE RESPECTFUL! We will get no where if this turns into a shouting/name calling match. We are meeting to make progress in the relations between the fans, front office, and security. Not make a personal statement. Please keep points of conversation relevant.

B) If you are not actually aware of what occurred do not assume or rely on reports from blogs or other media as there have been some gross exaggerations and also just flat out incorrect information.

C) Keep in mind the actual goal of this meeting. We want improved communication from the Front Office and better understanding of "supporter culture" by both the Front Office and TeamOps.


Feel free to use this post on the message boards as a sounding board to air any ideas or topics you would like to see on the agenda for the meeting. Please spread the word about this thread to fellow Riders. This is a very important time for the group.
