Second Charity Announced For Golf Tournament

Golf Tournament Looking For Second Sponsor
With the Midnight Riders 2nd Annual Golf Tournament just three months
away, we would like to ask for suggestions for our second charity. One
of last year's recipients, the Carrie Holmstrom Foundation, will once
again benefit from the proceeds of our Tournament. We'd like to get
input from our members for the second charity though.
The Executive Board of the Midnight Riders Inc. will decide who will be
picked, using a couple of criteria we'd like to adhere to, if possible.
We'd love to have something that's soccer related. We'd also prefer
helping out a local charity obviously. And finally, we'd really like to
have this be a smaller charity where our money really makes a
difference. The American Heart Association, and other such large
charities, are wonderful organizations and do worlds of good. But they
receive tons of money each year, and a $5k donation (as we made last
year to each of our recipients) wouldn't make a dent in their donation
bins.
So please, think of a situation that hits home with you or someone you
know and please email us at themidnightriders@yahoo.com with any
suggestion. We'd like to have all suggestions in by June 29th. Please
also list why you'd like that charity to be the one that the Midnight
Riders sponsor this year.

2nd Anuual Golf Tournament Sponsor!
With tournament planning well underway, we’re ready for golfers and friends to sign up for a day that promises to be a lot of fun and will benefit worthwhile causes. We had a great turnout and a lot of fun last year, so get your registration in early! Tournament registration information is available here and can be sent to the Midnight Riders PO box or to golf@midnightriders.com.
We’re also looking for additional sponsors. If you or your company might want to help us raise funds for charity, we have plenty of additional sponsorship opportunities ranging from $25 to $1,000. Sponsorship information is on the tournament registration form.
So grab a foursome and sign up for a great day on the course with your fellow Riders and the Revs!
And if you could spread the word, or forward the sponsor information to your HR department or anyone at your company who might be able to help us out, our charities would appreciate it.
We are excited to announce that we will be holding our 2nd Annual charity golf tournament on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Hillview County Club in North Reading, MA. This, our 2nd ever golf tournament, will benefit two very worthy causes near and dear to our hearts:
The Carrie Holmstrom Trust Fund
On April 28, 2006 Carrie Holmstrom, an all-star high school and club goalkeeper was involved in a horrible car accident. Her vehicle had burst into flames after striking a tree along a road in her hometown of Dartmouth, MA. Three brave men, risking their lives and suffering injuries of their own, pulled Carrie out of the wreck. Carrie was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital and was later treated at the Shriner's Burn Institute in Boston where she underwent multiple surgeries and treatments. Carrie was burned over 70 percent of her body. Doctors put her into a medically induced coma for three months and were forced to amputate both her legs below the knee and the fingers of her right hand. Carrie’s family, friends and NOVA SC teammates created The Carrie Holmstrom Trust Fund to aid Carrie in all of her future endeavors.
